Psychedelic / Plant Medicine Preparation and Integration

Preparing for a psychedelic / plant medicine journey, as well as getting support to bring the lessons and wisdom revealed to you into your everyday life is so important. The journey begins the moment you say “yes” to the experience, and it continues for weeks, months and sometimes years after the psychedelic ceremony / session itself.

Preparation sessions may include:

  • Explore and understand any trauma, challenging events from the past, as well as what happened in your ancestral lineage. This process can help clear the emotional landscape for the medicine to work on a deeper level, as well as prepare you for what may come up in the ceremony.

  • Giving voice to and exploring any fears and doubts related to the upcoming journey

  • Preparing the body and the mind - creating a self-care plan for before and after the experience

  • Practicing self-regulation techniques - breath, touch, voice - as the extra tools to navigate challenging moments of your psychedelic journey

  • Safety - ensuring your upcoming experience and the setting it’s held in feels safe to you.

Integration

Psychedelic journeys can be profound, magical and empoweringcontinuing to cultivate those qualities in your everyday life is so special. Equally, they can be challenging, confusing or deeply uprooting - in which case making sure you have a trusted person to support you post-journey can ensure it overtime transforms into a healing experience.

My approach is integrating a psychedelic experience on three levels - body, mind and soul.

Integration sessions may include:

  • Unpacking the journey(s): what have you experienced, what parts of yourself were revealed to you, what wisdom have you received. What would you like to take with you?

  • How does your body feel? What care does it need? Creating a self-care plan that supports your physical body to be able to process the experience.

  • How does your spirit feel? What does it need? Cultivating new rituals, practices and connections that support your spiritual health and nurture the energy field you would like to be in going forward.

  • Bringing clarity to what is no longer going to be welcomed in your life, setting new boundaries with yourself and others.

  • Who are you now? Exploring the new layers and aspects of yourself that were revealed to you and integrating them into your wholeness.

  • Exploring challenging experiences through somatic therapy to potentially uncover the roots of them

  • Holding space for and inquiring into difficult sensations, emotions, states of mind that the journey has left you with.
